Paragliding Courses

A progressive, graduation-based pathway from your first training day to independent flying

Extreme Flying Club Principle

Training is graduation-based, not day-based. The durations and flight numbers shown are average planning benchmarks, not limits. A student progresses when the required skills, understanding, judgement and flying ability have been demonstrated. Weather, continuity, individual learning pace and retained skills after any training gap can change the actual timeline.

Learn to Fly — Progress by Ability

Extreme Flying Club's training pathway is designed as a continuous development of skills, knowledge, judgement and independence. A course is not considered complete simply because a student has spent a prescribed number of days in training.

What "Average Duration" Means

The stated durations are planning averages. There are no fixed limits on the number of days or flights needed to graduate. If weather, skill development or retained knowledge requires additional training, the course continues. Conversely, a student who demonstrates the required competence sooner does not need to remain in training merely to fill a calendar.

Continuity Matters

Continuous training is strongly beneficial. Long gaps can require a return to ground handling, morning flying and previously learned skills before progression resumes. IPC is designed to reduce this fragmentation by taking the student through P1, P2, P3 and P4 in one continuous progression.

How Our Instructors Work

Instructors do not simply move students through a checklist. They observe, identify gaps, bring students back to the ground when necessary, transfer decision-making gradually and allow progression when the student's ability supports it.

P1–P2 Foundation Course

P1–P2 Foundation Course

Average 15–20 days (graduation-based)

Build ground skills, theory and judgement to take off and land independently in morning/evening conditions. 15–20 days, graduation-based.

Graduation objective

Independent take-off and independent landing in appropriate morning and/or evening conditions.

P3 — Thermic & Independent Flying

Average 20–25 days (graduation-based)

Move from supervised to independent thermic flying: meteorology, judgement and sustained safe airtime. 20–25 days, graduation-based.

Graduation objective

Independent meteorology and flight decisions; independent thermic flying; approximately one hour of airtime.

P4 — Cross-Country Flying

Average 20–25 days (graduation-based)

Combine meteorology, planning and in-air decision-making to extend your range; 25 km FAI triangle benchmark. 20–25 days, graduation-based.

Graduation objective

Cross-country development with a 25 km FAI triangle as the benchmark.

Independent Pilot Course (IPC)

Approximately 90 continuous days

The complete 90-day training progression through P1, P2, P3 and P4 in one continuous course, built around continuity and independent-pilot judgement.

Graduation objective

Continuous P1–P4 progression toward an independent pilot with sufficient experience and airtime for SIV.

Specialty Training

Independent pilots can work with the club on specific objectives on a case-by-case basis. Examples include:

  • A 50 km FAI triangle
  • Acro training
  • Refining thermalling
  • Improving cross-country skills
  • Returning to flying after a substantial gap

Typical pricing for this type of training is approximately ₹4,000–₹10,000 per day, depending on the objective and requirements.
